Fragment Olive Branch Necklace

£175.00

A fragment of delicately carved ornamental stonework depicting a olive branch adorns the wall of Sir John Soane’s Museum. Using highly detailed 3D scanning this is reimagined at a new scale in gold plated recycled oxidised silver, bringing to life the original craftsman’s detailed carving.

Sir John Soane’s Museum notes on the original fragment:

Carved fragment of a shaft depicting olive branch and foliage. Collected in Rome by Charles Heathcote Tatham for the architect Henry Holland during the 1790s and acquired by Sir John Soane in the 19th century. Most likely of Hadrianic origin, around 117-138 AD.

All of the collection is hand made in London’ s iconic Hatton Garden jewellery district.
